3D Design Projects

I'm now posting the 3d Design projects the student do on Thingiverse.  There you can look at them and download copies for printing.  To see our latest objects, click here.   We are no longer using Sketchup...most of these objects are either from Inventor or Maya.

Wobbler Engine by Larry Stacy
After learning Inventor in Robotics, Larry wanted to build an "engine."  I drew him a sketch on my whiteboard of what a "wobbler engine" was...similar to a steam piston on an old locomotive.  Larry created the parts and assembled the model virtually in Inventor.  He gave me an STL file and I printed it on our Stratasys Uprint Plus.  This video is just a couple of minutes after I snapped the pieces together.  He's since built an upgraded model...I'll add  a new pic later.
